Tech won its appeal of a Department of Education investigation that deemed it in violation of the Clery Act, which requires timely warnings be sent to students when a crime is committed on campus. The judge ruled that Tech acted appropriately under the standards at the time and would not have appeared in violation of the law if the second shootings had not occurred.
