This was my view for most of the day. Last night, news broke that Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the director of the International Monetary Fund accused of sexually assaulting a hotel maid in Manhattan, would appear in court once again. The case against him has reportedly been weakened by victim credibility issues, and today he was set free of his house arrest while the investigation continues.
This media crowd is what resulted. I should mention many more media members (mostly writers) were off to the side since they did not need to get a front view of the speakers, who turned out to be Kahn’s defense attorneys, the victim’s attorney and the embattled District Attorney. Also, when this photo was taken, many media members were still inside the courthouse.
It was quite a zoo. I mostly played lookout, so no real byline on this story, but it was a fun experience to be around the scene anyway.
